Never before has Brighton been able to offer such a diverse and cosmopolitan range of accommodation. The last year or so has seen a rapid growth in room numbers throughout the city, both for the boutique market but also in corporate and conference hotels. The city is ready to take on all comers now.

Lansdowne Hotel in Hove also launches sister (or brother!) hotel the Royal York this month, offering a large feel hotel with boutique style. And the added bonus of apartment suites for VIPs.

Notable new kids on the block include the rather lovely new Jury’s Inn hotel which is so close to Brighton Station you could trip over it getting off the train. For a thoroughly modern feel with a very reasonable price tag this is a great option.
Situated in Brighton’s very funky new Jubliee quarter is the elegant, sexy and very modern MyHotel. Described as ‘a hotel where Freddie Mercury might have met the Maharishi’, MyHotel Brighton combines cutting-edge design and technology with serene spirituality and the principles of feng shui.
Also planned in for the not-too-distant future is a Big Sleep hotel, the group partly owned by John Malkovich. With hotels already in Cardiff and Cheltenham, Big Sleep currently makes the Conde Naste hot list and will be coming to Brighton soon.
Finally, keep your eyes peeled for Travelodge’s new venture, trialling at the moment and due for release soon. All Travelodge hotels will offer guests the option of using high tech sleep suits. You read it here first!
